She’s famed for her exceptional accents in Killing Eve, so it’s no surprise to hear that BAFTA nominee Jodie Comer voice-coached her Hollywood pal Ben Affleck through their upcoming flick.
The pair star opposite each other in The Last Duel, which was filmed in France and Ireland last year.
Ben turned to Jodie to help him perfect a British accent. His last attempt was in hit 1998 film Shakespeare in Love, when he played English actor Ned Alleyn.
My source explains: “Despite the fact everybody loved how graceful and playful Ben was in Shakespeare in Love, that was a very long time ago.

“He knew going into this project that he was rusty as hell when it came to that sort of thing. Jodie helped him get sorted so his accent didn’t sound forced or fake and actually fits the period and tone of the movie.”
The film is set in 14th Century France, where knight Jean de Carrouges, played by Matt Damon, and his squire Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver) are ordered to fight to the death after Carrouges accuses Le Gris of raping his wife Marguerite, played by Jodie.
Ben, 48, plays Count Pierre d’Alençon and wrote the script before hand-picking 28-year-old Jodie to appear in the film.
My source says: “The accent required was British, even though the story is set in France. Jodie is the queen of accents and perfected hers from the get-go.”
Jodie’s performance as Villanelle in Killing Eve earned her a fourth BAFTA nomination, and cemented her as one of Britain’s best-loved actors.
She is also starring opposite Ryan Reynolds in sci-fi blockbuster, Free Guy. Last week she told how she would love to land a villainous role in the next James Bond movie.
