Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez rekindling their romance, earlier this year, sent the showbiz world into a spin.
The pop sensation and Hollywood heartthrob were first an item in 2001 after falling for each other while working on film Gigli.
The following year Ben asked JLo to marry him and the duo were soon dubbed Bennifer.
However, their timing was off and they called off their wedding just days before it was due to go ahead, blaming the media attention.
They said in a statement: "Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date.
"When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate 'decoy brides' at three different locations, we realised that something was awry.
"We began to feel that the spirit of what should have been the happiest day of our lives could be compromised.
"We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families, and our friends."
They then split in 2004 and both went on to marry other people before getting back together in 2021.
And now, Ben - who shares three kids with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner - has confessed that his role as a father nearly held him back from reigniting a relationship with star JLo due to his brood being his "highest responsibility."
Asked if he had doubts about getting back with his former flame, the Batman actor told Howard Stern, MailOnline report.
He said: "It crossed my mind for sure. My responsibility to my children is the highest responsibility. I don't want to do anything that is painful or destructive to them if I can help it."

The father to three children, Violet, 16, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, nine, also touched on his marriage breakdown and told how he and ex-wife Jennifer Garner carefully considered ending their union.
"The truth was we took our time, we made the decision, we grew apart," Ben said.
"We had a marriage that didn't work. We tried because we had kids. We did not want it to be the model of marriage for the kids. We did our best. I knew she was a good mom, and I hoped she knew I was a good dad. I had to get sober, and I acknowledge that."
During their time apart Jennifer married Marc Antony, just four months after announcing her split from Ben in 2004, though this marriage did not last either and she and Marc split in 2011.
She shares twins with Marc, named Max and Emme, who are both 13.
She went on to get engaged to Alex, and they delayed their wedding twice due to the pandemic, but they admitted in March 2021 they were "working through some things" and split one month later - shortly after Bennifer reconnected.
