It was then extended due to unprecedented public demand before moving to London.

The show has since been nominated for four Olivier Award and has played to more than 750,000 people.

As expected, this production will feature fans favourite songs from the original movie including Make 'em Laugh, Good Morning, Moses Supposes and Singin’ in the Rain.

Singin’ in the Rain will be directed by Jonathan Church with Olivier Award-nominated choreography by Andrew Wright.

The production is designed by Simon Higlett with lighting by Tim Mitchell.

The full cast is yet to be announced.

Audiences have often left theatres a little bit wetter than when they first walked in as the show uses 6,000 litres of water and 100 metres of heavy duty rubber hose.

The stage takes 15 minutes to drain with the water then recovered to used again for the next show.

Tickets for Singin' in the Rain at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre start at €21 and are on sale at Ticketmaster now.
