A man who was shot Thursday in Belmont Gardens on the Northwest Side died of his injuries the next day, according to a medical examiner’s report released Tuesday.
Another man was critically wounded in the shooting.
They were sitting in a parked vehicle about 9:05 p.m. in the 4000 block of West Fullerton Avenue when someone fired shots from a black SUV, Chicago police said.
Fausto Rodriguez, 34, was struck in the head and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he died Friday, according to police and Cook County medical examiner records.
The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.
The other man, 23, was also struck in the head and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in critical condition, police said.
Area Five detectives are investigating.
