Bellwether Green hires head of litigation from rival firm

Law firm Bellwether Green has hired Fran Ennis from Pinsent Masons as its head of litigation and regulation.

The Glasgow-based lawyer has 15 years of experience in dispute resolution and joins after 12 years at Pinsent Masons, where she was a senior associate acting for clients including international hotel chains, major sporting institutions, banks and insolvency practitioners. She is a University of Glasgow graduate with expertise in the financial and retail sectors and has advised on insolvency and restructuring. She is also a trustee of the Homeless World Cup.

April Bingham, head of corporate at Bellwether Green, said: “Fran has been a lynchpin within the Pinsent Masons litigation team for more than a decade. She is a fantastic lawyer who is incredibly well respected amongst peers and clients alike. She fits perfectly with our ambitions to attract Scotland’s best legal talent and to deliver them back to the market at rates that really work for new and existing clients.”

Bellwether Green was formed in Edinburgh 2008 and has grown through its acquisitions of MacFarlane Webster and Alastair J Gordon. It also has a Glasgow office.

Ennis said: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining Bellwether Green. One of the biggest draws for me was the firm's obvious focus on quality of legal advice, based on knowing their clients’ businesses inside out.

"Covid-19 has led to an unprecedented period of economic uncertainty and now, more than ever, clients are looking for solid legal advice from advisers that understand their business and the need for a flexible approach in these uncertain times. I am totally committed to supporting Bellwether Green’s clients through these challenging times."
