Bellshill target experienced new gaffer ahead of West of Scotland League debut

Bellshill Athletic are aiming to bring in an experienced boss for their West of Scotland League debut after gaffer Robert Sneddon left the club.

Sneddon was revealed to have left Rockburn Park after a “mutual agreement” after five years at the club.

Secretary Brian Closs confirmed that discussions had been on-going for a few weeks with the outgoing manager.

The committee member said both parties “felt it was best to get a fresh start” and the decision was “purely down to personal reasons and not football.”

He said: “With the changes in the leagues it was felt that this would be the best time for a clean slate.

“Now we are inviting applications until April 24. We don’t have anyone in mind, but ideally we would want someone with experience to come in.

“They would have to understand the finances of the club and the goals we have for player development.

“We feel like there is a good platform here for a manager especially in the new league.”
