Bellshill Athletic sack management as they bid to scrap West of Scotland League clash

Bellshill Athletic have sacked manager Derek Wilson and his coaching staff, with immediate effect.

As a result, Bellshill say they can't fulfil tomorrow's West of Scotland League Conference A clash at home to Maryhill, which was scheduled for Rockburn Park, with a 2pm kick-off.

The club are currently ninth in the table, with seven wins from 14, and sit on 24 points.

They are now actively seeking a replacement, but applications are to be in by Sunday evening.

A statement issued by the club this afternoon read: "With immediate effect, our manager, Derek Wilson, and his coaching staff have been relieved of their positions at Bellshill Athletic.

"We thank them for the time and effort that they have put into their roles and wish them well for the future.

"We will be accepting applications for the vacant managerial role, and any interested parties should email their CV to bellshillathletic1897@gmail.com by Sunday, October 17, at 6pm.

"As a result of today's decision, we will be unable to fulfil tomorrow's fixture versus Maryhill.

"We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to Maryhill FC, the West of Scotland League and the supporters of Bellshill Athletic for this inconvenience."
