UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Bellator makes its return Friday, as does the promotion’s light heavyweight grand prix.
In the main event, bantamweight champion Juan Archuleta (25-5 MMA, 7-1 BMMA) defends his title against Sergio Pettis (20-5 MMA, 2-0 BMMA). The co-main event features a light heavyweight grand prix quarterfinal between short-notice replacement Jose Augusto (7-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) and former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Johnson (22-6 MMA, 0-0 BMMA).
Following Thursday’s official Bellator 258 weigh-ins, the athletes came face to face for some traditional pre-fight staredowns. The final faceoffs went off without a hitch, with the most energy between Archuleta and Pettis.
Bellator 258 takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena. The main card airs on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.
