Bellator 232 winner Jornel Lugo thinks he brings entertainment factor to table

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Having called out the media for not giving him enough attention, Jornel Lugo is here to bring the entertainment.

Lugo (3-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) put on a dominant performance over John Douma at Bellator 232 on Saturday, and expects to be signed by the promotion following his big win.

“I’m planning on getting signed after this,” Lugo said after his win at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. “So after this, shoutout to Bellator – we’re ready to take it to the next level. With me and Mikey (Kimbel), for entertainment factor, I feel like we bring a lot to the table. So after this, Bellator’s going to – we’re going to bring it up.”

Lugo was able to keep the fight primarily on the feet and stuffed several takedown attempts from Douma. He bloodied and battered him throughout the fight. It was a step up in competition for Lugo, who passed the test with flying colors.

“I had to keep checking myself over and over throughout the fight: Stay composed, touch him, ” Lugo said. “I’m Mr. Composed, and I never fought someone with such good composure like that.

“It feels good, man. I tried to take initiative: first one in, last one out. I went in there, did my thing, stood composed and now I’m going to take everything that comes with it.”

Douma was coming off an upset win over Kimbel, Lugo’s friend and teammate, in February.
