UNCASVILLE, Conn. – The weigh-ins are in the books for the first of Bellator’s back-to-back fall events in Connecticut.
The first half of the cards on consecutive nights, Bellator 231 takes place Friday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card airs on Paramount and streams on DAZN following prelims on MMA Junkie.
Thursday, the fighters made weight in the morning, then squared off for the fans at the early evening ceremonial weigh-ins.
In the main event, former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir (18-13 MMA, 0-2 BMMA) takes on Roy Nelson (23-17 MMA, 1-3 BMMA) in a rematch from a fight Mir won by unanimous decision in 2011. This time Nelson is nearly a 2-1 favorite against his fellow Las Vegas-based fighter.
In the co-main event, former Bellator light heavyweight champ Phil Davis (20-5 MMA, 7-2 BMMA) returns to take on promotional newcomer Karl Albrektsson (9-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA).
