Bellator light heavyweight Joe Schilling is known for his one-punch knockout abilities.
At Bellator 210 in November 2018, however, the world-class kickboxer put a calculated beating on opponent Will Morris. It was death by a thousand paper cuts as Schilling methodically picked apart Morris in brutal fashion.
The victory snapped a two-fight losing skid for Schilling, while also kicking off a two fight-win streak.
When the bell rang to signal the end of the first round, both men were covered in Morris’ blood. On the stool in between rounds, Morris was struggling. His corner had seen enough and told referee Mike Beltran “no mas.”
The victory set Schilling up for a matchup against Keith Berry, which he won by unanimous decision at Bellator 219 in March 2019.
Friday at Bellator 229, Schilling (4-5 MMA, 3-2 BMMA) will square off with former “Dana White’s Contender Series” competitor Tony Johnson (8-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA). The event will take place at Pechanga Casino in Temecula, Calif. The main card will air on Paramount Network after prelims stream live on MMA Junkie.
