LOS ANGELES – Bellator 228 media day took place Thursday, and MMA Junkie was on the scene for the gathering. At the conclusion of the fighter interview session, the athletes on hand faced off for the first time ahead of Saturday’s event.
In the main event, Lyoto Machida (26-8 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) and Gegard Mousasi (45-7-2 MMA, 3-1 BMMA) fight in a middleweight rematch more than five years in the making.
The co-main event will see Patricio Freire (29-4 MMA, 17-4 BMMA) put his featherweight title on the line against Juan Archuleta (23-1 MMA, 5-0 BMMA) in a matchup that also serves as an opening-round bout for the promotion’s grand prix.
