Bellator 225: Corey Browning ready to make his name vs. Nick Newell with third straight upset

STAMFORD, Conn. — Corey Browning’s first two Bellator fights resulted in upset stoppage wins over highly touted prospects.

After beating Kevin Ferguson Jr. and Aaron Chalmers, Browning (5-2 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) quietly has become known as “Legend Killer” among some members of the Bellator staff. Next up, he’s got a chance to take out another man he’s probably not supposed to beat in Nick Newell (15-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), who makes his promotional debut in front of what will be a highly friendly home crowd.

Bellator 225 takes place Saturday at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn. The main card airs on Paramount and streams on DAZN following prelims on MMA Junkie.

Check out what Browning had to say about Newell, as well as his first two Bellator wins and what it would mean to get a third, in the video above.
