Bella Thorne is making a movie based on her recent monetary success on the social media platform OnlyFans.
Since the actor joined the subscription-only platform last week, Thorne has reportedly made over $2m (£1.52m) from her page.
OnlyFans allows celebrities and influencers to share exclusive images or videos with paying subscribers. Often its content is deemed too risqué for social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter.
Thorne charges users a monthly fee of $20 (£15.20) to access her feed.
The actor told the LA Times of her plans to document her OnlyFans success story in a film starring herself. “It’s a feature we are researching as I’m living it currently,” she said.
The 22-year-old also revealed that, although the film is “very early in its development”, Sean Baker – who previously directed critically acclaimed indie films The Florida Project and Tangerine – has signed on as its director.
The Assassination Nation star said the film will answer questions about a platform such as OnlyFans, including “What are the ins and outs? What does a platform like this do to its users? What’s the connective material between your life and your life inside the world of OnlyFans?
“How can it change your life for the worse and the better? How far are you willing to go, and how far do you want to go?”
The actor concluded, “You can be me, or this talented girl from Montana, and OnlyFans could change your life – if you want it to, of course.
Thorne first became famous as a child star on the Disney Channel series Shake It Up before going on to star in films including Assassination Nation, Infamous and the television series Famous in Love.
