Bella Hadid joins protests after expressing 'deep sense of pain' for Palestine

Bella Hadid showed her support for Palestine after she joined a large-scale protest that took place in New York following a week of conflict between Israel and Palestine.

The 24-year-old supermodel, whose father Mohamed Hadid hails from Palestine, took to social media to unveil a collection of snaps taken from the march.

In the post, Bella donned a face mask as she joined the crowds that took to the streets of New York carrying signs and the flags of Palestine.

The New York march was one of several Free Palestine rallies that were taking place around the globe following this week's unrest in the area.

Addressing the movement, Bella called on Palestine to be free.

She wrote: "The way my heart feels.. To be around this many beautiful, smart, respectful, loving , kind and generous Palestinians all in one place... it feels whole ! We are a rare breed!! It’s free Palestine til Palestine is free!!! P.s. The Palestinian drip is real #FreePalestine."

A large number of her followers were quick to throw their support behind Bella and praised her for using her platform to educate others.

Her latest post came shortly after Bella shared a tearful post on Instagram as she opened up about feeling a 'deep sense of pain' for the events taking place.

"I feel a deep sense of pain for Palestine and for my Palestinian brothers and sisters today and everyday. watching these videos physically breaks my heart into 100 different pieces," she wrote at the time.

Bella added: "You cannot allow yourself to be desensitized to watching human life being taken. You just can’t. Palestinian lives are the lives that will help change the world. And they are being taken from us by the second. #FreePalestine."

Rallies have been taking place in cities around the globe this week after conflict erupted between Israel and Gaza at the start of this week.

At least 148 people have been killed in Gaza - including 41 children - amid cross-border fire and escalating tensions in the area.
