Belinda Carlisle at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall - review and photos

In 1989 Belinda Carlisle released her biggest selling album, to date, Runaway Horses. I wonder if she ever envisaged a tour to celebrate its 30th anniversary?

The 61-year-old is doing just that and last night it was Nottingham’s turn.

After a support set by the more than capable Emergency Tiaras, Carlisle bound through 18 much loved songs.

La Luna and A Woman and a Man (an odd choice for an encore) were the only weak points in a great set list that saw Runaway Horses played in its entirety.

The audience lapped up the likes of Leave a Light On, Summer Rain, Valentine and the powerful Shades of Michaelangelo.

Carlisle is a consummate professional and has an excellent band supporting her.

As she exited stage left you could tell she appreciates how much Runaway Horses means to her fans.

If you are among them or she’s your guilty pleasure then make sure you try and see the show next time, Whatever It Takes.
