Belgium vs Italy: Euros prediction, kick off time, team news, lineups, venue, h2h results, latest odds today

Belgium and Italy clash tonight in a heavyweight Euro 2020 showdown for a place in the semi-finals.

Roberto Martinez's Group B winners saw off 2016 winners Portugal at the last-16 stage while the Azzurri, who also cruised through the groups, were given a scare by Austria before coming through in extra-time at Wembley.

The winner in Munich will face either Switzerland or Spain in the semi-finals.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Belgium vs Italy is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off tonight - Friday, July 2, 2021.

The match will be held at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Belgium vs Italy team news

Belgium coach Martinez says he will wait until the last minute to decide whether Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard will play tonight.

De Bruyne rolled an ankle against Portugal and Hazard's hamstring troubles returned in the closing stages of that match. Dries Mertens and Yannick Carrasco would come in if the pair are not fit to start. There is hope De Bruyne will be able to take part.

Italy are sweating over the fitness of captain Giorgio Chiellini, who has been nursing a calf injury. Otherwise, Roberto Mancini has a clean bill of health.

Starting lineups

Belgium XI: Courtois; Alderweireld, Vermaelen, Vertonghen; Meunier, Tielemans, Witsel, T.Hazard; De Bruyne, Doku, Lukaku

Italy XI: Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Spinazzola; Barella, Jorginho, Verratti; Chiesa, Insigne, Immobile

Belgium vs Italy prediction

A tough one, this.

Belgium have two key players missing but still boast a fearsome attack. Italy coasted through the group stage before being pushed all the way by Austria - would that have helped them or hindered them?

I’m backing a narrow win for the Azzurri after extra time.

Belgium 0-1 Italy.
