Belgium manager Roberto Martinez drops hint over Romelu Lukaku Manchester United future

Belgium manager Roberto Martinez has urged Romelu Lukaku to leave Manchester United this summer if an appropriate offer comes in for his services.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from United in the coming months after an inconsistent season which saw him struggle for regular game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Italian side Inter Milan are believed to be favourites to sign the Belgian forward should he become available this summer, and now national team manager Martinez has admitted it would be good for his country if he were to leave Old Trafford.

"It is clear that he has to leave Manchester United," Martinez told HLN.

"It would be a good thing for both parties. It is now important that Romelu finds the right club."

Speaking last week Lukaku dropped the biggest hint yet he could leave the club this summer when he praised new Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte and described him as 'the best in the world'.

"It is good that Conte went to Inter, for me he is the best coach in the world," Lukaku told Sportmediaset.

"As for my future, I have already made a decision that I still cannot communicate publicly out of respect for Manchester United with whom I have a contract."

The MEN revealed earlier this summer that Lukaku was open to a switch to Inter Milan amid concerns over his role under Solskjaer.
