Belgian civil servant suspended for taking pornographic photos in ministry offices

An interior ministry staff member in Belgium has been suspended for taking pornographic photos in executive offices.

The unnamed civil servant reportedly shot explicit nude images in the office’s lifts and in meeting rooms, before posting them on Twitter and other social networking sites.

The administrator had worked for the ministry for six years, and had her access badge and laptop confiscated after the images were discovered.

The woman’s bosses noticed she had appeared in a French TV report, investigating people who offered sexual services online. After a quick internet search, the photographs were unearthed. It is not certain when they were taken.

A spokesman for Interior Minister Jan Jambon confirmed the staffer was suspended pending a formal investigation “in the interest of the public and in [the staff member’s] own interest”.

The woman has reportedly protested against her suspension, insisting the photographs were private and not associated in any way with her job. According to Belgian reports, she said: “I’m being treated like a leper”.

The interior ministry has not yet announced the results of their investigation, or given any indication as to the future of the staff member in question.
