Young people from different communities across Belfast have proudly unveiled a new mental health mural.
The display, on the Falls Road, was hand painted in a collective effort by girls and boys from Divis Youth Project, St James Swifts and Denmark Street Community Centre.
Working alongside Féile an Phobail, as part of the Féile Community Engagement Programme, the young people spent hours cleaning and repainting the wall in order to make way for their splash of colour and messages of hope.
The encouraging messages throughout the drawings, with numbers to relevant organisations who can help in times of need will remain on the wall going forward.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Kevin Morrison, Community Engagement Manager at Féile an Phobail said: "Féile is delighted to have had the opportunity to work alongside young people from the Falls and Shankill.
"Our goal was to explore what are the issues that transcend both communities, something that the young people have similar experiences of, as opposed to the differences. What emerged was the issue of mental health and how it affects both communities regardless of the walls, gates or barriers that exist between them.
"The murals that have been produced have a common thread that flows throughout them. These murals from the Falls and the Shankill not only highlight the issue of mental health, but also send out messages of hope, encouragement and positivity.
"The unselfish nature of these young people is a testament to who they are, who they engage with, and their respective communities. Whilst such an emotive issue in our collective community, these murals go a little bit further in providing us all with a little more colour and hope in our lives."
