Belfast weekend weather set to be mostly dry as live gigs take place across city

Concert-goers should be in luck this weekend as the weather is predicted to remain mostly dry.

The Met Office forecasters have given their predictions for the weekend ahead, saying that after a few showers in the early evening on Friday, August 13, it should clear bringing dry and sunny spells.

"Some bright or sunny intervals and scattered showers, briefly heavy in places in the afternoon. Blustery south-westerly winds, easing later in the afternoon," the forecast reads

"Showers mostly dying out this evening though a few lingering towards the north coast. Some longer clear spells overnight with winds light."

The dry weather is set to continue into Saturday, August 14, although there is likely to be less sunshine.

The Met Office has said that it will be a bright and sunny morning, before becoming cloudier in the afternoon and evening.

It said: "A mainly dry day, and quite bright though high cloud will thicken up through the day."

The predictions will be good news for those attending live music events across Belfast and Northern Ireland this weekend.

Fontaines DC are headlining at CHSq on Friday night, while Patrick Topping and Len Faki will be the main act on Saturday.

It is also the final weekend of the Feile an Phobail festival in West Belfast and the Eastside Arts Festival in East Belfast.
