Belfast weather: When we can expect sunshine in the city today

Summer may be over but that won't stop the sun shining bright here in Belfast.

"Sunny intervals" are forecast across the city on Tuesday, October 5.

Some cloud will come through in the afternoon, but according to Met Office, we should see moments of pure sunshine from 2pm to 3pm, and again at 6pm.

Highs of 14C are forecast in Belfast, with a minimum of 7C at nighttime.

Rain is likely to hit the city from Wednesday October 6 to Friday, October 8, but this should hopefully clear the way for a dry weekend in Belfast.

The situation across Northern Ireland is looking fairly similar.

It will be mainly dry and bright across NI on Tuesday, October 5, with sunny spells and just a scattering of showers.

The north to northwest winds will freshen, becoming strong at times around the coast, with a maximum temperature of 14C across NI.

Wednesday, October 6 is expected to enjoy a dry and bright start with some sunny spells.

Cloud will then thicken from the west, with outbreaks of rain developing in the afternoon, and winds also freshening. A maximum temperature of 15C is expected.

From Thursday to Saturday in NI, it is forecast to be cloudy with outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy and persistent at first, but turning light and patchy by Saturday.

It is also likely to be breezy and very mild.
