Belfast weather: When bright spells are forecast amid showers across the weekend

The first weekend of October will be a wet one in Belfast - but with many bright spells to look forward to in between.

"Sunny intervals" will make a nice start to Friday, October 1, but we are likely to see light showers by late morning.

Saturday, October 2 will be cloudy to begin with, but Met Office forecasts heavy showers by late morning, which should ease off into the evening.

By Sunday, October 3, most of this wet weather should have subsided - giving way to sunny intervals by late morning and a (hopefully) dry day to end the weekend.

We'll see maximum temperatures range between 12C and 13C - with a minimum of 7C at nighttime.

The picture is looking fairly similar across Northern Ireland.

Bright spells and showers are expected in NI on Friday, with the best of the drier and brighter conditions in Co Antrim and Down.

Strong winds are predicted at times, with a maximum temperature of 14C.

Saturday to Monday, October 4 should bring a mixture of bright and sunny spells with showers. These showers are forecast to be heavy at times, with a chance of hail and the odd rumble of thunder.
