Belfast weather to stay wet on Thursday as heavy rain stays throughout the day

We have gotten off lightly in terms of rain over recent weeks - but that's changed today.

The weather forecast for Belfast on Thursday October 29, has nothing but rain clouds on the map.

Rain showers will continue from early morning into Thursday night but hopefully dry up on Friday.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "A cloudy day today with widespread rain, although some drier interludes developing in places by this afternoon. Feeling much milder than of late this afternoon. Breezy with brisk southwesterly winds. Maximum temperatures of 15C.

"[And on Thursday night] it will be a cloudy evening and night with some occasional mostly light rain, turning mainly dry later. Brisk southwesterly winds easing down later. Very mild for much of the night too. Minimum temperatures of 9C."

The Halloween weekend looks slightly unsettled on the Met Office's forecast too.

There's the chance of an odd shower at first on Friday morning otherwise dry with some good spells of sunshine. Tomorrow's maximum temperature will be 12C.

Meanwhile, the PHA has advised the public against the traditional Halloween celebration of Trick or Treating this weekend to limit the spread of coronavirus within our communities.
