Belfast Weather: Sunny morning followed by cloudy evening

It will be a bright and sunny start to the week this morning before cloudier weather sets in later.

The Met Office forecasters have given their predictions for Monday, April 26, saying that it will be a warm and sunny start to the day with thicker cloud to come later in the evening with the chance of a few showers.

Temperatures are still set to remain warm reaching a maximum of 18 degrees in the afternoon and a minimum of 5 degrees.

The sun will rise at 5.57am and will set at 8.47pm.

The Met Office said: "A dry morning with the best of bright and sunny spells to the south of Lough Neagh through to mid-morning. Gradually cloud increasing from the north during the afternoon, bringing a scattering of quite light showers, as northwest breezes develop.

"(Tonight) Showers mixed between early evening brighter intervals and later clear spells. Northwest winds increasing fresh overnight, occasionally strong across northern coasts."

Tomorrow (Tuesday, April 27) is set to be a colder and wetter day with outbreaks of rain predicted in between sunny spells.

The Met Office said: "Sunshine and showers for Tuesday, with outbreaks most frequent and heavy during the morning across northern counties, where brisk northerly winds will make it feel significantly cooler than Monday."
