Belfast weather forecast with sunny spells and wintry showers

The Met Office say Thursday will have sunny spells and wintry showers.

According to its weather forecast for January 21, there will be frequent showers, occasionally wintry, through the day.

The forecaster added: "But these becoming increasingly confined to the north into the afternoon, with prolonged sunny spells elsewhere. Strong northwesterly winds around coasts. Maximum temperature 5 C."

A yellow weather warning for ice in Northern Ireland was previously issued up to 10am on Thursday.

It will be largely dry and clear through Thursday evening and overnight, "but still the chance of a few wintry showers in the north".

Winds are set to ease overnight with a minimum temperature of -2 C.

On Friday, there will again be a mix of sunny spells and wintry showers throughout the day. There is the best chance of drier conditions in the southeast. There will be a maximum temperature of around 2 C.

From to Saturday to Monday, there will be a good deal of dry and sunny weather but with the chance of a few wintry showers at times in the north over the next few days.
