Belfast weather forecast to be sunny and settled on Friday

The Met Office says Friday's weather across Belfast will be mainly sunny.

After a very wet day on Thursday with a mix of scattered showers and winds, today looks more promising.

A spokesperson for the Met Office added: "A bright morning with sunny spells and just a few showers around. However the afternoon looks dry and largely sunny. Occasionally fresh southwesterly breeze easing. Maximum temperature 12C.

"[It'll be] A dry evening [on Friday] with clear spells but cloud increasing. Outbreaks of rain spread northeast overnight, becoming persistent and occasionally heavy, especially across the south. Strengthening southeasterly winds. Minimum temperatures [of around] 5C."

For Saturday, which is Halloween, it's forecast for occasional "heavy and persistent rain" clearing from the west through the morning with sunny spells and occasional showers following for the afternoon.

"Winds will turn westerly and ease with maximum temperatures of 15C," the Met Office added.

Meanwhile, the PHA has advised the public against the traditional Halloween celebration of Trick or Treating this weekend to limit the spread of coronavirus within our communities.
