Belfast weather forecast predicts moments of sun before thunderstorm warning tomorrow

We're set to see some moments of sunshine in Belfast and beyond, before a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms swoops across Northern Ireland and increases the potential for flooding.

Wednesday, September 8, should see "sunny intervals changing to cloudy by lunchtime" according to Met Office, with another moment of sun at around 5pm.

Across Northern Ireland, the weather is forecast to be mostly dry on Wednesday, and feeling very warm in any sunshine. But scattered showers are possible in the afternoon.

The maximum temperature in NI is likely to be 25C, and we're predicted to see highs of 23C in Belfast.

But the fine weather is soon to disperse as the yellow weather warning comes into effect at 11am on Thursday, September 10.

Thursday is forecast to be misty at first with some hill and coastal fog, along with light winds and a maximum temperature of 20C in NI.

Heavy showers and thunderstorms have the potential to bring surface water flooding in a few places, and disruption to travel is to be expected.

Luckily, the weather warning will be over by 8pm.

Friday and Saturday are forecast to be cloudy with showers (and some longer outbreaks of rain on Friday) but everything should have really calmed down by Sunday - when mainly dry and bright weather should give Northern Ireland a lovely end to the week.
