Belfast weather forecast for Wednesday with sunny spells

The Met Office say we are set for sunny spells in Northern Ireland on Wednesday.

According to the weather forecast for February 17, it will be mild, windy and mostly dry but with a few scattered showers in western counties.

There will be strong southwesterly winds with a maximum temperature of 10 C.

Later on Wednesday, it will be a dry start to the evening.

The forecaster added: "However, outbreaks of rain will soon spread northwards. Rain will become heavy and persistent with some snow over high ground. Minimum temperature 2 C."

The Met Office predict there will be rain early on Thursday with snow over high ground which will quickly clear northeastwards.

The rest of the day will be a mixture of bright spells and blustery showers. It's set to be breezy with a maximum temperature of 9 C.

And for the weekend, the forecaster said it will be cloudy with spells of rain on Friday, which are set to clear later in the day.

There will be sunny spells and scattered showers on Saturday and Sunday, and it will be windy at times.
