Belfast weather forecast for Wednesday to be wet and windy

The Met Office say it will be wet and windy on Wednesday.

According to the weather forecast for March 10, any early brightness in the east will soon fade with thickening cloud and outbreaks of rain developing through the morning.

The forecaster added: "The rain heavy at times with fresh to strong south or southwest winds, gales around the coast. Brighter again later. Maximum temperature 12 C."

In the evening, it will be mostly cloudy with showers or longer outbreaks of rain which will be heavy at times.

The Met Office say showers will become well scattered later in the night, with drier and clearer spells by dawn and remaining windy, with a minimum temperature of 5 C.

On Thursday, expect bright spells and heavy blustery showers. There is also a risk of hail and "the odd rumble of thunder". It will be feeling cold with strong westerly winds, and a maximum temperature of 9 C.

It will be feeling cold with heavy blustery showers on Friday, wintry on high ground.

The Met Office added: "More persistent rain and hill snow possible late in the day. Bright spells and showers over the weekend."
