Belfast weather forecast for Tuesday with patchy rain and brighter spells

Northern Ireland is set for some patchy rain on Tuesday.

According to the weather forecast for August 17, it's a c loudy start to the day with with mist, fog patches and light rain.

The Met Office say some brighter spells are possible around Belfast and Newry in the afternoon, with the weather staying quite poor on the North Coast. The maximum temperature today will be 18C.

For later on tonight, the forecaster said: "Low cloud, mist and fog patches settling in during the evening with some light, drizzly rain in places. Not much improvement expected overnight. Minimum temperature 12C."

And for Wednesday, light patchy rain, mist and low cloud in the morning will begin to clear, with some bright or sunny spells later in the day and a maximum temperature of 18C.

It's set to be mainly dry on Thursday, although it will be rather cloudy.

The Met Office added: "Friday will start dry and bright but clouding over later as rain and stronger winds move up from the south for Saturday."
