Belfast weather forecast for Thursday with heavy showers

The Met Office say we are set for a cloudy morning on Thursday with some patchy, showery rain.

According to the weather forecast for March 25, it should become b righter in the afternoon but showers will turn heavier and become more frequent and widespread.

There will be moderate southwest winds and a maximum temperature of 12 C.

For Thursday night, the forecaster said: "Showery outbreaks of rain continue through this evening and early in the night, with a band of heavier more persistent rain sweeping east later in the night. Minimum temperature 1 C."

Friday is predicted to be a much colder day "despite more bright or sunny spells".

Scattered heavy showers are expected, most frequent in the west and turning wintery on high ground with a maximum temperature of 9 C.

The forecaster says it will be a mostly dry, but cold frosty start to Saturday turning milder with strong winds and rain in the afternoon.

It will be breezy with outbreaks of rain Sunday and Monday.
