Belfast weather forecast for Thursday as rain continues

The Met Office say Thursday is set to be cloudy with outbreaks of rain.

A yellow weather warning for rain is in place until midnight tonight.

According to the weather forecast for February 4, rain is set to be heavy at times, especially over Antrim and Down.

What to expect

  • Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible
  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads
  • Possible power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses

The forecaster said: "Best of any drier weather will be across Fermanagh and Armagh. Strong winds along the North Coast easing. Maximum temperature 6 C."

On Thursday night, there will be further showers or longer spells of rain. These will be heavy at times, especially in the east with a minimum temperature of 2 C.

Friday is set to be another cloudy day with further showers or longer spells of rain.

The Met Office added: "Turning colder through the evening with freshening easterly winds. Maximum temperature 5 C."

From Saturday to Monday, there will be a mixture of bright spells and a few showers, these turning wintry from Sunday.

It's predicted to be feeling cold with brisk easterly winds.
