The Met Office say Friday will be a "much colder day despite some bright or sunny spells".

According to the weather forecast for March 26, scattered heavy showers will be most frequent in the west and "wintery on high ground".

It's set to be cloudier with more persistent rain in the late afternoon, with a maximum temperature of 9 C.

Rain in the early evening should clear by later on tonight, leaving scattered showers and clear spells.

The forecaster said: "Showers are likely to turn heavier and more frequent for a time overnight, but dry by dawn. Minimum temperature -2 C."

It's predicted to be a cold and frosty start on Saturday, leading to a dry morning but turning cloudier and windier.

Outbreaks of rain are expected in the afternoon with a maximum temperature of 10 C.

The Met Office say it will be mostly dry but cloudy on Sunday, with rain later in the day and overnight.

The forecaster added: "Rain likely to persist through Monday and into Tuesday. Rain clears later Tuesday, sunny spells later. Breezy."
