Belfast weather forecast for the weekend ahead with sunny spells and showers

It's set to be mainly dry with some bright or sunny intervals on Friday.

According to the weather forecast for May 7, there is a chance of a light shower developing later this morning and through the afternoon, with light winds.

The Met Office say it is still rather cool with a maximum temperature of 12C.

Then any showers will be dying out this evening to leave the first part of the night dry.

The forecaster said: "Strengthening south-easterly winds will outbreaks of rain later in the night, far north staying dry. Minimum temperature 3C."

For Saturday, it's predicted to be cloudy in the morning with some rain. It's then set to become drier and brighter in the afternoon with the odd shower, feeling much warmer too with a maximum temperature of 15C.

And from Sunday to Tuesday, it's set to be an unsettled few days with scattered showers, some of which will be occasionally heavy.

The Met Office added: "Feeling pleasantly warm in any afternoon sunshine."
