Belfast weather forecast for the weekend ahead

The Met Office say it's a rather cloudy start to Friday with patchy rain.

According to the weather forecast for January 29, a few brighter spells are likely, "especially across southwestern parts but generally a cloudy day with patchy mainly light rain".

The forecaster added: "Occasionally fresh northerly or northeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 8 C."

Tonight, patchy rain will die out with some clear spells developing, "especially in north where a frost is possible".

It's predicted to be cloudier in the south with patchy rain towards dawn and an occasionally strong easterly breeze with a minimum temperature of 0 C.

For Saturday, the Met Office said: "Patchy rain in south soon clearing to leave a dry and bright day with some good spells of sunshine developing, especially across western counties.

"Easterly winds easing. Maximum temperature 6 C."

It should be a bright start to Sunday with some brighter spells expected north on Monday.

The forecaster added it will otherwise be cloudy with, especially across southern and western parts, occasional rain.

It's predicted to be wet and windy on Tuesday morning but with some brighter spells later on in the day.
