Belfast weather forecast for Sunday as rain and thunder expected

The damp but mild weather looks set to continue across Northern Ireland today with heavy rain forecast for this afternoon.

According to the Met Office, Sunday will begin with a cloudy start and some patchy rain before brightening up for a spell.

Although the rain will return heavier in the afternoon with thundery showers also forecast.

If you're hoping to see some sunshine your best bet is around the North Coast and winds are also expected to be light.

It will feel mild with a top temperature of 15 °C.

As for tonight, we can expect some more clear skies developing as the rain moves out bringing light winds and becoming chilly. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Monday's outlook is better with the Met Office predicting 'a bright day with some sunny spells. Scattered showers breaking out from mid morning but these will be brief. Maximum temperature 15 °C'.
