Belfast weather forecast for Monday predicts a dry and bright start

After a rather surprising weekend weather-wise following predictions of rain, Belfast is due for another sunny start this morning.

According to the forecast for Monday and there will be a dry and bright start to the day - but cloud is expected to start bubbling up this afternoon.

The weather forecast for May 17, also predicts some that some showers will develop.

A Met Office spokesperson said it will be "a dry and bright start with some good spells of sunshine around but cloud bubbling up through the morning with showers developing".

They added: "The showers, with light winds, will be slow moving and become occasionally heavy for a time this afternoon."

This evening, however, it is expected that the showers will largely die out "to leave some late sunny then long clear spells overnight".

"With light winds it will turn quite chilly with mist and fog patches developing."

The maximum temperature for Monday will be 15 °C and we are expected to have a low of 3 °C.

Sunrise was at 5.15am and will set again at 9.26pm.

It is advisable to apply sunscreen, especially for kids, as UV levels will reach medium. Pollution is to remain low - but the pollen levels will be medium.

Tuesday to Friday's outlook is a a mixed bag.

Tuesday:

Any fog soon clearing to leave a fine start with good sunny spells. However showers are expected to develop through the morning with the odd heavy one in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Rather cloudy start Wednesday with showers but brighter later. Cloudy Thursday with outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy later and strengthening winds. Further rain or showers on Friday.
