Belfast weather forecast for Friday with some sunshine

The Met Office say although it's a rainy Friday morning, it's set to turn drier and brighter this afternoon.

According to its weather forecast for December 18, rain spreading from the southwest will become "briefly heavy" in places.

It said: "Becoming mainly dry this afternoon with some sunshine, perhaps with the odd shower. Brisk southeasterly winds easing this afternoon. Mild. Maximum temperature 12 C."

It is predicted to be a mainly dry and clear evening.

There will be a few showers that will be "briefly heavy" that will spread from the west in the early hours.

The Met Office added: "Freshening southerly wind along the east coast. Minimum temperature 6 C."

On Saturday, expect sunny spells and a few showers - some of these will become heavy at times. Best of the drier weather is predicted in the east. There will be a maximum temperature of 9 C.

It's set to become bright and breezy on Sunday with a few showers, most frequent in the west.

The Met Office said there is a chance of early rain on Monday, then turning mostly dry. Tuesday is predicted to be mostly dry, with potentially some rain later on in the day.
