Belfast weather forecast for Friday with long spells of rain

The Met Office say Friday will be cloudy with further outbreaks of rain.

A yellow weather warning for rain is in place until 12pm today.

According to the weather forecast for February 5, it's predicted to be drier in the west.

The further showers or longer spells of rain will be heavy at times during morning across Antrim and Down, "drier in the west until later".

The forecaster added: "Turning colder through the evening with freshening easterly winds."

Tonight, showers will continue but are set to become "confined to the southeast by dawn" and the west should see a few clearer spells.

The Met Office say "fresh easterly winds continuing around the coast. Minimum temperature 3 C."

On Saturday, a few showers are set at first in the east, but a lot of drier weather is expected. It's likely to stay rather cloudy, feeling cooler later with a maximum temperature of 6 C."

For the outlook from Sunday to Tuesday, a mixture of bright spells and a few showers are predicted in the east.

These will be turning wintry from Sunday and it will feel "cold with brisk easterly winds".

A yellow weather warning across Northern Ireland comes into effect at 12am on Monday and is valid until 11.59pm the same day.

The Met Office says there will be "snow showers for many with a cold easterly wind" as it warns that disruption to travel is possible.
