Belfast weather forecast for bank holiday Monday

The Met Office has forecasted that we will be saying goodbye to the nice weekend weather as we head into Easter Monday.

People across Northern Ireland have been making most of the bright and dry weather over the bank holiday weekend with sunny skies and maximum temperatures of 14 C on Friday and Saturday leaving many in a good mood.

However, looking at the weather forecast for April 5, we will once again have to swap the shorts for coats.

We can expect a cold yet bright day where we will experience a mixture of sunny intervals with the occasional wintry hail or snow showers that will ease as the day goes on.

Temperatures may reach six degrees in places with possible lows of zero degrees.

The sun will rise at 6.47am and set at 8.07pm.

Looking ahead into the rest of the week, it is looking likely that the wintry weather will continue throughout Tuesday with lingering sleet or snow showers into Wednesday morning.

The forecaster has also added that Thursday is likely to bring cloud and wind with some showers across the country.
