Belfast weather forecast for a wet and windy start to the weekend

The Met Office say it will be windy with outbreaks of rain on Friday.

According to the weather forecast for February 19, it will be mainly wet and cloudy.

Rain will be heavy at times this morning, but it's set to become drier in the afternoon with the chance of a few bright or sunny intervals.

It will be mild and windy, but with gales along the east coast and a maximum temperature of 11 C.

Tonight there will be a few showers at first, then becoming dry with cloud breaking to give some clear spells.

Winds are set to ease but with cloud increasing again late on Friday with a minimum temperature of 5 C.

For Saturday, the Met Office said: "A cloudy day, with patchy rain. This becoming heavier and more widespread by the afternoon. Strengthening southerly winds. Mild. Maximum temperature 12 C."

The forecaster predicts sunny spells on Sunday and Monday. It is set to be windy at times, and cloudy with some spells of rain.

The rain will become heavy on Tuesday with the chance of some gale winds too.
