Belfast weather forecast for a dry Thursday

The Met Office says it's set to be mainly dry on Thursday.

According to its weather forecast for January 14, any "lingering rain" is set to "clear the far east this morning to leave a fine and mostly dry day with prolonged sunshine, perhaps the odd shower". There will be light winds with a maximum temperature of 8 C.

It's predicted to stay dry into this evening, but with clear skies overnight.

The forecaster added: "We may see some fog patches forming and the temperatures will drop. Minimum temperature -5 C."

On Friday, it will be another "fine and dry day" but turning increasingly cloudy later on with rain pushing in from the west during the evening. The maximum temperature is set to be around 6 C.

And for the weekend, "bands of rain pushing eastwards on Saturday with showers following behind".

The Met Office predict it will be a mainly dry day on Sunday but further wet weather seems to be likely on Monday.

A weather warning had been issued for Northern Ireland on Monday for three days, as heavy rain was predicted to cause some disruption.
