Belfast weather forecast: Cloudy with outbreaks of rain

It is going to be cold and wet throughout the day in Belfast with heavy showers expected.

The Met Office forecasters have given their predictions for Tuesday, February 2, saying that there will be rain until around midday today when it will lessen before further downpours in the evening.

The maximum temperature will be five degrees, but at times it will feel like it is below freezing.

There will also be a chance of snow in some of the higher areas of Northern Ireland.

The sun will rise at 8.12am and set at 5.04pm.

The Met Office said: "It will be cloudy throughout the day with bands of rain, and sleet and hill snow at first, pushing northwards. Gusty easterly winds will give a cool feel.

"(Tonight) Staying cloudy with further rain affecting the country tonight, this heavy at times. Winds easing by morning away from coasts."

Tomorrow is set to be a similar day according to the forecasters who are predicting further heavy rain.

The Met Office said: "Little change into tomorrow with cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain persisting, heaviest rain likely to be during the evening."
