Belfast weather forecast as temperatures set to plummet tonight

Northern Ireland is set for a severe frost on Saturday night as temperatures are set to drop dramatically to -5.

The Met Office say the outlook for the weekend is set to be largely dry in most parts but feeling very cold.

On Saturday we can expect 'a cloudy morning with showery outbreaks of rain. Becoming dry in the afternoon with increasing amounts of sunshine, the best of these in the east. Light to moderate northerly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.'

But tonight will call for an extra blanket on the bed as temperatures are set to fall with forecasters predicting 'a dry evening and night with largely clear skies. With light north or northeast winds this will allow temperatures to fall away quickly resulting in a widespread sharp frost. Minimum temperature -5 °C."

Sunday too will remain cold but dry and sunny day. However, cloud will spread west in the afternoon, perhaps a few light showers in the east. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
