Belfast weather forecast as spring sunshine set to continue throughout weekend

The blue skies and sunshine of the past few days look set to continue throughout this weekend.

But the message for sun-seekers is to enjoy it while it lasts as the weather is set to turn colder come the start of next week.

High pressure remains in charge this weekend, keeping things mostly settled. It will be quite warm inland by day but cooler and misty along some coastal. areas The nights will be chilly with mist and fog in some parts.

According to the Met Office, most of Northern Ireland should see plenty of sunshine throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures could reach 17C in parts of Northern Ireland on Saturday, climbing to 18C on Sunday, which is above average for this time of year.

Overnight low cloud, mist or fog will gradually clear through Saturday morning to give a dry and largely sunny day with highs of 17 °C.

It will be dry with some sunny spells on Sunday too before temperatures are set to take a tumble at the start of the new week.

It will be cloudier on Monday and Tuesday and mainly dry, but some patchy light rain is possible at times.

From Wednesday onwards and as we move into April, things will start becoming more unsettled with northern areas seeing increasing amounts of cloud with a few showers.

It will be breezy and feel cooler than recently in the far north, with the potential for some snow showers at low levels while temperatures will be near average in the south.
