Belfast weather for Thursday with periods of heavy rain

The Met Office say it's a cloudy start to Thursday with occasional patchy rain.

According to the weather forecast for January 28, it will be turning dry and increasingly bright from the south from mid-morning, bringing a settled early afternoon.

The forecaster added: "However cloud thickening from the southwest to bring periods of occasionally heavy rain to most by early evening. Maximum temperature 10 C."

It's set to be overcast with periods of rain, with heavier outbreaks through the evening.

The Met Office say winds will be "generally light and variable in direction, perhaps freshening across northern coasts overnight". There will be a minimum temperature of 2 C.

On Friday, it's predicted to be quite a cloudy day with patchy light rain through the morning.

The forecaster said: "Slowly and erratically the rain will clear southwards during the afternoon, perhaps allowing some late brightness to develop. Maximum temperature 9 C."

For the outlook from Saturday to Monday, it's fortunately predicted to be mainly dry with some brighter spells.

However, there is a chance of periods of rain and some snow spreading from southwest during the weekend.
