Belfast weather for Monday will see early morning fog clear to leave sunny afternoon

Drivers are being asked to take care on the roads this morning as there will be dense fog in places.

However the weather will brighten up with a sunny afternoon predicted.

The Met Office forecasters have given their predictions of Monday, March 1, saying that a foggy morning will lead into a bright and sunny day with maximum temperatures of 11 degrees.

Due to the poor visibility in the morning, drivers are being asked to plan extra time for their journeys and take care on the road.

The Met Office said: "Mist and fog slowly clearing this morning, perhaps lingering into the afternoon in a few places. Otherwise dry with sunny spells and light winds. Feeling pleasant in the afternoon sunshine.

"(Tonight) Dry with long clear periods at first then mist and fog patches forming later. It will be a chilly night with a touch of frost. Light winds. Minimum temperature -1 degrees."

Tomorrow is set to be a similar day with forecasters saying there could be fog in places in the morning, before brightening up with sunny spells across most of the country.

The Met Office said: "Another dry day with mist and fog patches slowly dispersing during the morning. Sunny spells developing in most areas. Light winds. Maximum temperature 10 degrees."
