Belfast weather: Dry and sunny throughout the day with warning for ice

It is set to be a cold but dry day across Belfast with a yellow weather warning for ice in place.

The Met Office forecasters have given their predictions for Monday, January 25, which says there will be a freezing start to the day, with frosty conditions until after 10am.

It will be bright and sunny for most of the day with a maximum temperature of three degrees. The sun will rise at 8.25am and set at 4.48pm.

The Met Office said: "Any freezing fog patches clearing by the end of the morning. Otherwise many places will have a dry and sunny day, perhaps the odd shower across the northwest later. Cold."

Tonight there is a small chance of some rain in places, particularly around the North Coast. Some higher areas could see further snow.

The Met Office said: "North coast may see a shower this evening. Otherwise dry with a frost. Rain and high ground snow are likely to spread to western areas later. Minimum temperature -1 °C."

Tomorrow is to be much different, with rain predicted throughout the day and a rise in temperature.

THe Met Office said: "Cloudy with rain spreading east through the morning, turning drier from the west later. A little milder than of late. Maximum temperature 7 °C."
