Belfast weather: Dry all day after a cold and frosty start

It is set to be dry throughout the day today in Belfast, but it will be very cold and frosty to begin with.

The Met Office forecasters have given their predictions for Tuesday, January 12, saying that it will be cold and dry throughout the vast majority of the day, however there will be heavy rains overnight.

The maximum temperature will be five degrees and at times in the morning it will be below 0 degrees.

A yellow weather warning for Ice is also in place.

The sun will rise at 8.41am and set at 4.24pm.

The Met Office said: "Cold, frosty start, then mostly dry and bright with the best of the sunshine in the east. Thicker cloud over Fermanagh in afternoon with a little rain reaching Belleek by evening. Rather cold but winds will be light."

It's prediction for tonight said: "Rain soon extending across Fermanagh will extend east to reach most places by midnight. The rain becoming heavy at times."

Tomorrow will see the rain continue in Northern Ireland with a cloudy start to the day and heavy showers at times. But it will be much warmer with a maximum temperature of 11 degrees.

The Met Office said: "A cloudy day with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times especially across Antrim, but becoming lighter in the south and west. Becoming much milder."
